We all know the sports-luxe trend has dominated collections both on the catwalks and the high street for the past few seasons. As the top menswear brands gathered for the seventh edition of Jacket Required this week, there appeared to be no sign of slowing down anytime soon. Right now we’re continuously seeing vintage sportswear brands such as Le Coq Sportif, Russell Athletic and Fila reinventing themselves with a premium edge, while new leisure brands offering quality, functionality and style continue to flood the market.
Here we bring you our top leisurewear spots from what has rapidly become the greatest menswear show on the calendar, Jacket Required.
The jogger is most definitely this Californian brand’s forte, which also happens to be the home of the original Jogger Pants™. In fact, so established Publish LA is in the States that recent pieces sold out online in less than an hour. What do we love about this brand? The confident simplicity of their utilitarian style.
On top of the classic offering of grey marls, amongst other traditional leisurewear tones, Orsman’s bright mustard and deep green SS15 collection was a real winner for us at this seasons Jacket Required. Details such as unexpected seams, semi-circular pockets and mixed technical fabrications set this brand apart from the rest. We also love the bold simplicity of the brands embroidered logo.
Wait (Waiting for the Sun)
While the main focus for this French brand is it’s unique organic sunglasses, the clean pared back sweats were what really caught our eye at the show. The brand’s store in Paris offers the complete surfer lifestyle package – check out their tumblr to really get a feel of what they’re about.
This relatively new London based brand is already stocked by the likes of Oi Polloi and Present. We were drawn to the classic look of their collection and their thoughtful eye for detail; they sum it up pretty perfectly themselves:
‘The balance between simplicity and detail, casual and formal, past influences and new ideas’.
